1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chips
Duke Snider

This is one of the key issues within the 29-card 1954 Dan-Dee set. Among the most attractive and popular of all the 1950's regional sets, these cards are very difficult to obtain in high-grade condition as they were issued directly within bags of potato chips, and are often found with product stains. Originally distributed mainly in the Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania area, most of the cards in the set feature Indians and Pirates players.

Snider enjoyed an outstanding 18-year career. He was one of the key members of the great Dodgers teams of the late 1940's through the 1950's. Snider was an eight-time All Star selection, two-time World Series champion, and finished as runner-up to teammate Roy Campanella for the 1955 National League Most Valuable Player Award.

The offered card is a virtually unimprovable MINT 9 gem. It is absolutely dead-centered with four untouched corners, bright ivory-white borders, and a vibrantly colored portrait of Snider. The back features sharp bold printing and is exceptionally bright and clean. Tied for the finest PSA graded example.
