1952 Berk Ross
Joe DiMaggio

This issue featuring Yankees Hall-of-Fame icon Joe DiMaggio is one of 72 unnumbered cards within the 1952 Berk Ross set. This "Hit Parade Of Champions" issue was the last of two sports trading card sets published by Berk Ross Inc. of New York, NY in 1951 and 1952. As he retired at the end of 1951, this was DiMaggio's final standard baseball card issue.

Joe DiMaggio enjoyed a legendary 13-year Hall-of-Fame career (1935-1942 and 1946-1951), all with the New York Yankees. He was a three-time AL MVP Award winner (1939, 1941 and 1947), a nine-time World Series champion, and he was named to 13 All Star teams - every year of his career. His 56-game hitting streak in 1941 is one of major league baseball's most celebrated records.

This is a world-class example. DiMaggio's image is remarkably well-registered, while the background is richly colorized. The corner quality is superb, the borders are a very attractive antique-white tone, and the card-front has a radiant sheen to it. The paper quality is outstanding, with no observable flaws or impairments. Out of a total of 195 submissions, this is one of just three examples to be graded MINT 9 by PSA - with none higher.
